I like Gwen. Always have. I think her character would have been put to better use in Eye of the North as a psychopath leader of the Charr (inspired by her disturbingly evil killing spree in the beta, where she had lines like "Mommy always said not to play with fire. But Mommy's dead.") than as an angsty teen, but thems the breaks.
Besides, she's cute both in pre and EotN.

I liek Gwen. It felt nice to have a kid around in Presearing. Gives you someone to care about. If anything, I'm worried about the later Gwen. The hatred is destructive...

You can't bring in realism to explain character because the entire game suspends realism. The character is written, and from the looks of it, written annoyingly. You can only take the 'oh that's how the character should be!' so far because characters are meant to further the story in a pleasing way, not detract from the experience.

i found GW: EN a bit short since i finished it with my mesmer in one day
but with other chars i'm lacking the motivation to finish it
some things in the game are good yes
got good drops from a few dungeons but some aren't too generous
after doing a master difficulty dungeon of 5 levels and getting only a lockpick and non perfect gold weapon
i get rly pissed

She actually deserved to be more than a hero. And I also would have liked her to remain a riddle. It was so funny when all those "OMG I FOUND WHO GWEN REALLY IS" posts were everywhere.

Yeah, Gwen does seem a bit high-maintenance, but I'm surrounded by high-maintenance women in RL, so she's a pussycat comparatively. I really like how her character was developed, very life-like, very real. My favorite kind of character, she's always in my hero line up.

Its kinda understandable that considering what she went through, Gwen would have a few "issues" but leaving her in command? BAD mistake. Someone that obsessed and that angry needs some serious therapy. But I don't hate her, I just take her AND Pyre when I farm Vanguard points. Its part of her therapy, teaching her how to play nicely with her new Charr friends lol. Speaking of which, I absolutely love the Charr. I think its hysterical the way they mess with humans with the "stand out there while I load it" comment when you're learning to use the siege devourer or the "he needs someone to use as bait" comment when you get the armored saurus quest. Those had me rolling.

I hate that I need her on some missions, and I dislike the writing that was done for some of her script. Otherwise, she's a female mesmer. How can that be a bad thing? Now I just need 3 female necro heroes...

Seriously though, I don't hate her. Yeah she was kind of annoying chirping at Pyre Fierceshot, but I found their banter to be one of the more enjoyable parts of the EotN cutscenes. Mostly I use her as my PD hero when things need interruptin' and its all good.

I think she's helluva good entertainement. :P

When I started my very first character in pre I thought she was kind of annoying...yet I wonder why I kept her with me all the time and gave her all my flowers, a cape and a flute too lol. She's special alright. She makes me lawl.
